The holiday music was playing in the stores in early October, trying to get you in the mood for the season of overconsumption of consumer products and joyous eating. As the leaves fall and the weather turns, Creekside remains consistent with comfort food and drink as we fall headlong towards year’s end, noting America’s #1 pastime: Shopping. #2: Eating. #1 Food in America: PIZZA.
Creekside’s How to Survive the Chaos and not get caught in the fray:
- Stop watching and/or listening to the news
- Watch less TV, therefore less advertising bombardment
- “Want what you have, not have what you want” – His holiness the Dalai Lama
- Happy Hour, daily at Creekside. Takes the edge off. Silo yourself. Interact with others. Takeout to the park. Enjoy the redwoods. $2 off salads (healthy), $4 off pizzas, $4 craft beers, $4 wines by the glass.
- Limit social media consumption: It’s a rabbit hole. Minimize exposure to Advertising.
- Make a list. Prioritize. Delete. Action. And… Keep a journal. Give it a try.
- Three, Two, One, Sleep: Don’t eat three hours before bed. Stop all work two hours before bed. No media at least an hour before you go to bed.
- Make time for yourself. Take a hike. Exercise, no matter how small, makes a difference. Keep company you enjoy. Don’t forget to breathe.
- Design your days. Avoid distractions. Thoughts become things; choose the good ones.
- Gratitude. Goes a long way. Take a minute to reflect on magical moments, your loved ones, your opportunities, your life.
For your convenience and our relentless mission to serve, Creekside is open EVERY DAY, 365 Days a Year, at 11AM, INCLUDING Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and into 2024. During this holiday season, we are grateful to be an integral part of our community. In a world outside of our bubble where every story is about bloodshed and looming disaster, make San Anselmo your destination for yesteryear; your escape, your fortress of solitude, your family and gathering feel-good homestyle home away from home.
