While Creekside holds the title for Best Taproom and Craft Beer in Marin (Thank You voters and fans), we stand on the shoulders of giants; we’re just a taproom, pour other people’s stuff. The heroes are our selected brewery partners who make badass beers and have a passion for the craft. Re-opening this weekend is HenHouse’s West County Pub in Fairfax (formerly Iron Springs Brewery). In their 2.0 version of this working brewery, HenHouse reformatted the menu and floor plan, giving it the cozy pub feel and community-hub-vibe, plus a new parklet with benches and bar counters. Looks like it’s going to be a hit. You can bet you’ll see Team Creekside at this pub when we’re not working at Creek. Help HenHouse shine with great reviews on social media to support the craft. In addition to flowing 40 taps of goodness here at Creekside every day, Creekside has a lovely selection of craft beers to go in 4-packs. Creekside General Manager, Jackson Palmer, makes trips to Humble Sea Brewing in Santa Cruz every two week (I know, sounds like a tough job) to bring the freshest unique beers from that next-level brewery, plus this week we have Old Caz, Laughing Monk and three from Absolution on the week of their ninth anniversary. Grab a four pack for your Live on the Avenue celebration. A four pack is cheaper and easier than wrangling four beers on tap in your hands and pizzas and stumbling through everyone else in your way out of Creekside.
Who else has great beer nearby? Souvenir Bottle Shop next to Gelato has great craft beers to go plus a solid selection of organic wines. Ludwig’s, next to Town Hall is another great take-out resource. They too have a craft beer showcase and arguably the best wine selection in Marin. Just down the road…a bit, are our friends at Pond Farm Brewing Company in San Rafael. With the recent addition of in-house food, Pond Farm has been going-off with a packed house every night. Grab a case of Pond Farm on your way to Live on the Avenue. Of course, we have Pond Farm award-winning Devi’s Gulch hazy IPA on tap every day, at Creekside SA.
