It is with great sadness that we share in the loss of Coleman Burke, founder and lead of the multi-decade local band Pride & Joy. Prior to our pizza life, we worked with our friend Coleman at New George’s, festivals, fairs, Black & White Ball, countless special events where everyone would dance and sing along to the Motown feel-good favorites, including many years at the San Anselmo Country Fair Day. Coleman and Pride & Joy brought true joy to tens of thousands of people. He will be missed. Thank you Coleman.
Today, ask yourself: “Have I been putting something off, or have I not called someone special to tell them I’m thinking about them, or is the a selfless act of kindness I can do to make the world a better place in any small (or big) way?” When would Now be a good time to do this? There are only so many tomorrows. Thoughts become things; choose the good ones.
We shall miss Coleman dearly!
Heard his band play near Stanford and what a group of great talents.
A true Music Lover, keep on playing up there…
Coleman was such a great presence. Easy going, fun to work with. Pride and Joy was lucky to have him on their team.
We will miss him for sure.
Condolences to Coleman’s family. I just learned of his passing and my heart is heavy. Ive followed his band for years and have introduced many of my family n friends to the band. I certainly hope the band will carry onward in memory of a great man.
Coleman was a wonderful person, a great friend, and talented musician. I will miss him very much. Peter
I was introduced to Coleman and Pride and Joy about 6 years ago through a friend about 7 years ago. Over the past 7 years I partied with Coleman, Martin and the Pride and Joy band at many of their performances including several new years eve events at Crown Plaza in Foster City. I befriended Coleman and found him to be most interesting and admired that he founded Pride and Joy more than 30 years ago and that they were still going as big and popular as ever. Such a great talented group of people. Thank you Coleman you and Pride and Joy has had a significant impact on me. You will be missed
